Ideas Competition for the municipal library of Setúbal. The Largo José Afonso, in the city center, along the Avenida Luísa Todi, is the location for the installation of the new Setúbal Municipal Public Library, in a building with an estimated cost , considering a total area of 3200 square meters, of 3 million 200 thousand euros.
It will be a landmark building with a formal language combined with a contemporary aesthetic, and that benefits whole area. The building will have a maximum of three levels above the ground level. You must also have an area of about 40 m2 for cafeteria that should relate directly to the outside and the lobby of the building. The library project should consider expansion and adaptability.
