International architecture competition focused on superblocks that proposed Cerdà for Barcelona as a group of some of the existing blocks. The quiet streets of these superblocks give us the opportunity to imagine a whole new public space; greener, accessible and comfortable for walking or cycling, … and we can also transform the environment to make it more self-sufficient.
A super-block is a new urban cell that is designed to secure the release of most of the space that is now motorized pedestrian to get back to being a citizen. I mean performing all the functions now not allowed to because it will only leave a tape, sidewalks, next to the buildings.
The City Council, with the modification of the bus network, has taken a first step towards the new development of the city, restoring superblocks Cerdà.
The scope we propose is bounded between Calle Muntaner Entenza and vertically and horizontally Mallorca Paris and general plan. To improve the control of space a dimension between the streets and Viladomat Entenza is proposed. It is a given superblock level with the ultimate goal deployment across the city, without the dimension alters the nature of competition.
The quiet streets of the super-blocks give us the opportunity to imagine a different public space: greener, accessible, pleasant for cycling … and yet we can transform this environment to be more self-sufficient.
