2022 Maine Homes Design Awards
Maine Homes by Down East is calling all design enthusiasts to enter their home designs and vote for their favorite projects in the 2022 Maine Homes Design Awards. From houses with head-turning curb appeal to those with impressive landscaping, Maine Homes wants to see what Mainers are up to this year.
The entry period has already begun and runs until Sunday, May 15th, while the voting period runs from Monday, May 16th to Thursday, June 16th.
The application process is quick and easy. Participants simply enter photos and a description of their project. The categories include New Home, Remodel/Addition, Small Space (houses under 1,500 square feet), Kitchen and Garden/Landscaping. Industry professionals can submit entries in one or multiple categories for $50 per entry, while amateurs can do the same for $10 per entry.
Projects will be judged by Maine Homes’ panel of industry professionals and voted on by the magazine’s readers.
The judges include:
-Rachel Ambrose (Home Remedies)
-Jon Drezner (Drezner Architecture)
-Eliza and Susan Crater (Sister Parish Design)
-Tara Kelly (Maine Preservation)
-Loi Thai (Tone on Tone Interior & Garden Design).
Winners in both the professional and amateur segments will be chosen through a blind judging process. The one caveat is that photos must be taken in Maine. Judged winners will get their project photo and description published in the fall issue of Maine Homes. Plus, the winning readers’ choice and judged projects will be featured on MaineHomes.com, and promoted in the magazine’s newsletter and across its social channels.
And that’s not all. This year, 25 percent of proceeds from the contest will be donated to the Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and Maine Homes is proud to support that vision in Maine.
