ARQUITECTUM was the first international platform and agency of its kind dedicated to organising open architecture competitions for professionals, graduates and students to present their concept and vision for a specified project. Arquitectum considers its competitions as a platform and an opportunity for architectural exploration, experimentation, speculation, intervention and discussion.
And most importantly it provides architects, designers, planners and urbanists a means of exposing and communication their practice and work to prospective clients, employers and publishers worldwide.

THE CHALLENGE
The challenge for this competition is to design an AI (Artificial intelligence) and Robotics Museum within the Nuevo Polanco district within Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico in an area bordered by Boulevard Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Presa Falcón and Presa Danxhó. This is a cultural area of interest for local and international visitors due to the presents of museums and centres such as Museo Soumaya Art Museum, Museo Jumex, Inspark Virtual reality amusement park, Acuario Inbursa aquarium exhibition centre and Teatro Telcel.
The competition provides architects and designers with a unique opportunity to showcase vision, creativity and innovation in the continuing transformation and regeneration of an area that is fast become “The contemporary cultural hub” for the city of Mexico. This location with it’s rich industrial history and situated in proximity to the Museo Soumaya Art Museum and Museo Jumex museum, it offers an opportunity for another groundbreaking and breathtaking structure and a new landmark destination with both visual and experience for both local and international visitors. As part of this exciting architecture challenge, architects and designers are invited to replace the existing structure on the site with one that integrates or partially or fully isolates from the existing building on the site.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION 
The objectives of the AI & ROBOTICS MUSEUM , MEXICO CITY competition are the following:
Reward quality design solutions that responds effectively to the specification of this brief.
Encourage architectural design solution and ideas that best respond to the location.
Generate ideas that contribute both functionally and volumetrically to the site.
Promote the design of a structure that takes into context the site and topology.
Stimulate discussion of ideas regarding the intervention and construction on such a site.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE
This is a single stage Competition to identify the most appropriate and most consistent proposal in accordance to the general and specific objectives of the contest.

THE PROJECT:
The project is to design a AI & ROBOTICS MUSEUM in Ciudad de México (CDMX) within the Nuevo Polanco district with the capacity to house temporary and permanent exhibitions relating to AI and robotics encompassing the history, advances and other immersive experiences.
This competition seeks to generate imaginative and innovative solutions with sustainability (such as energy-efficient systems), flexibility, accessibility and the impact on existing surrounding structures and communities in mind. The design should be inspirational, innovative, transformative, sensitive to the area, contemporary or futuristic whilst adding to the dialogue of buildings and structures reshaping the identity of this area.
Arquitectum welcomes architects and design enthusiasts from around the world to submit solutions with their unique vision for such a museum taking into context and location of the site.

Who can Participate

ELEGIBILITY
Eligibility for this open international architectural design competition are as follows:
– Architects, Graduates who have completed their architecture studies (including bachelors).
– Architecture students (under the direction of an Architect or course professor where possible, but not mandatory.
– Multidisciplinary teams may also take part in the competitions (designers, engineers, artist, etc.) as long as they have an Architect as Team Leader.
– Teams can only consist of a maximum of four (04) members.
