The Aldo Morelato Foundation launches the eleventh edition of the International Competition “Significant Furniture” with the theme “Dressing Spaces”. Domestic spaces are changing and it becomes necessary to maximize space by using functional and “significant” solutions, designed to store everyday and seasonal clothing.
The invitation for the 2014 edition of the Competition is to present a project and in particular to develop an object, a piece of furniture as a tool used to organize in the best way our “dressing spaces”. There are many types of clothing; work clothing, sportwear, beachwear clothing for holidays in the mountains, which all require a different and specific storing system.
The Aldo Morelato Foundation has always been an active promoter of furniture as “art” and therefore suggests to direct the projects towards objects that valorize woodwork.
As every year the Morelato company will produce the prototype of the winning project which will become part of the permanent collection of the MAAM, Museum for applied Art in the Furniture Field of the Foundation.
