International architectural competition in Taichung City (Taiwan) for the Taichung City Cultural Center that will comprise a public library and fine arts museum with a budget of Approximately US$ 80,000,000. The facility will help the city adapt to post-merger changes in population, urban development and cultural environment. A facility satisfying the cultural, artistic and recreational needs of Taichung’s residents will further propel the cultural industry, link tourism and city marketing resources and enhance the city’s cultural brand.
In response to a growing urban population, urban development and changing cultural environment, this project aims to provide citizens with a multipurpose cultural, artistic and recreational facility. By combining and synergizing the functions of arts, culture and education, the overall goal is to enhance cultural services, amenity, making arts and culture an integral part of the city life.
