Ideas competition for new Piazzale Paoli, to establish a memorial park in memory of the victims of the April 6th earthquake, in the Italian city of L’Aquila.
The initiative is part of the project that provides an artistic work within Piazzale Paoli, near the Villa Comunale Monumentale. The total amount only for construction, is estimated at € 300,000.00, with funds provided by the City, and will be used to carry out the work of art and the adjacent area.
That field, in the historic center of L’Aquila, is a crossroads and place, which had the largest number of earthquake victims, as the Via XX Settembre, Via Gabriele D’Annunzio, Via Campo di Fossa, via Luigi sturzo. The project, taking into account the urban context, historical, architectural and landscape, aims to capture in the future, which was from the city of L’Aquila and surrounding the April 6, 2009.
The competition prize winner expenses recognized in the development of the final design, for a maximum amount of € 13,000.00. The city reserves the right to extend the service object assigned, including the allocation of Works and Safety Coordination during the execution of the work, for a maximum compensation of € 30,000.00.
