International design competition organized by the Aldo Morelato Foundation that invites participants to develop a projects that analyzes a domestic space in which to collocate objects and furniture elements for clothes storing and in particular to develop a project for a piece of furniture, furniture elements to contain clothes.
It is increasingly necessary – as a result of changes that have affected the last few years the size and distribution of the spaces of our homes – to be able to find furniture solutions to locate and store the many or few items that we use for our everyday and seasonal clothing. We also have to consider our necessities related to special clothing different from normal clothing: from sportswear – specific to each type of sport – work clothing, to the clothing and equipment used in special moments: beach holidays, skiing holidays, more or less official ceremonies … Many different types of clothing, which as the equipment often require different ways and systems to be stored and preserved.
It should also be noted that the Foundation is committed to the enhancement of furniture as “art” and therefore suggests to direct the project towards objects that valorize woodwork. The project should be part of a reflection on the current trends and act as a response to the identified new housing needs as an innovative solution to offer to the market and not only as a stylistic exercise.
