Heritage Malta, on behalf of and as entrusted by the Office of the Prime Minister is launching a call for proposals for the design of an artistic statement to the Maltese Republic.
This call concerns the creation of an artistic statement to be unveiled preferably in December 2014, to coincide with the national festivities commemorating the 40th anniversary of Malta becoming a Republic (1974), the last of a series of national celebrations in 2014, also commemorating 50 years of Independence (1964), the 35th anniversary of Freedom Day (1979) and 10 years since EU Accession (2004).
This call is directed for proposals of an artistic statement as a symbol of the Maltese Republic. The site/s, type and scale shall be proposed by participant/s.
The indicative budget for the artistic symbol shall be €100,000 and the proposal has to include a low maintenance element which will have to be featured at concept stage.
