1st Place of: The Golden Sand Waterfront Architecture Competition
The main goal of this competition was to design a new masterplan capable of regenerating and revitalising the waterfront of Lignano Sabbiadoro, promoting sustainable mobility and environmental consciousness. Participants had to contemplate both the design of a general urban strategy and the new formal and spatial image of the most representative points of the site.

- Award in the Competition: 1st Place
- Date Results were Announced: March 4, 2024
- Motivations, Techniques for the Project:
Lignano’s stunning coastal nature presented both opportunities and challenges. Its historic charm and cultural heritage served as a constant source of inspiration, while the natural beauty and delicate ecosystem of the place demanded a sensitive approach. The biggest challenge was incorporating all the required functions and structures without overwhelming and disturbing the surroundings. In our proposal, we embraced existing natural elements and carefully considered local traditions and architectural styles to create a design that feels authentic and respectful of the place.
- Details of the recognized Project:
The proposed masterplan aims to transform an underdeveloped area into a vibrant and attractive destination – a harmonious blend of nature and urban life by incorporating green spaces, pedestrian paths, and community areas. This project goes beyond aesthetics and envisions a vibrant community hub for residents and tourists, fostering social interaction, environmental awareness, and economic activity in the area.
