Competition to develop basic urban planning, establishing the concepts of landscape planning and planning essentials for sustainability of the areas formed by the former Bayern headquarters in the city of Munich, Germany.
The former Bayern headquarters in the district of Schwabing-Freimann is one of the last large areas protected and owned by the city of Munich. The purpose of this competition is the development of the urban planning concept level for the site of about 48 acres with a residential focus. It aims to build an innovative town with diverse mix of uses, nature and good life and recreational values. The green space, adjacent structures and general pedestrian and bicycle connections should be networked and barriers should be eliminated. Participating associations, proposed a dense urban neighborhood with at least 3000 and until 5000 unities with at least 7,500 people with corresponding green areas, open spaces and social infrastructures.
Special emphasis is placed on the development of a sustainable urban neighborhood with a sustainable energy strategy to optimize consumption and reduce energy demand and waste. It should also take into account the socio-cultural, environmental and economic aspects of sustainable urban development in the planning.
