Results of the International Architecture Competition “Torre Antena Santiago ” in the Metropolitan Park of Santiago de Chile , which purpose is the selection of a draft that determines the design conditions for the construction project.
As part of this program , the Presidency has proposed the “Plan Parque Metropolitano 100 Años” to define several projects inside the Metropolitan Park. This urban park is the main public area of the City and it is located on Cerro San Cristóbal , a geographic element that it is surrounded by urban area . One of these initiatives is the construction of one tower which purpose is to centralize the several antennas that are currently hosted on the hills of this mountains in one single infrastructure .
In relation to this, the Presidency of the Republic , through the Ministerio de Vivienda y Urbanismo (MINVU), announces a contest called “Concurso Público Internacional de Anteproyectos Torre Antena Santiago” , which target is getting draft proposals for this new urban element , designed not only to radio transmission and analog and digital television, but become an urban landmark of the Santiago city and point of attraction for visitors . This new infrastructure must have enough capacity to lodge all antennas emitting currently from this place and to have capacity to growth for the installation of future antennas.
