International architecture competition organized by the city council that is inviting architects to submit visionary ideas for two large commercial towers in the heart of Parramatta City Centre.

Parramatta Square is an exciting three hectare development in the heart of the Parramatta CBD. Once complete, it will create a vibrant, central Western Sydney hub delivering a scale and standard of redevelopment previously unseen in the area. It will deliver a City Centre that is more attractive, dynamic and creative, being a 24 hour centre in which to live and work. Upon completion, Parramatta Square is expected to provide accommodation for 13,000 workers.

Parramatta Square will provide, at its heart, a large interactive public space, along with a new civic library, council chambers and council administration office. It will also deliver new corporate centres, retail and dining options and strong connections to the Parramatta transport interchange.

The development of the Parramatta Square Precinct has already begun, with Stages 1, 2 and 3 well underway. Stage 1, 169 Macquarie Street, received Development Application approval in September 2013,with Stages 2 and 3 due to receive DA approval early to middle 2014.
